ASCA South Australian Forum 2023

The Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) along with the Defence Innovation Partnership are hosting the South Australian ASCA Forum 2023.

ASCA takes a holistic approach to defence innovation by supporting the exploration of emerging and disruptive technologies, identifying innovations that can be rapidly adapted for military purposes and delivering asymmetric capabilities to Defence via Missions.

This Forum will provide stakeholders with an opportunity to hear from Professor Emily Hilder, Interim Head of ASCA who will outline ahead of the inaugural Mission announcement, the mission process and how participants can engage going forward.

Professor Hilder will also update on the Emerging Disruptive Technologies (EDT) program which focuses on shaping and future-proofing the innovation ecosystem.

This event is targeted towards industry, universities and other research providers who are interested in working with Defence to bring new and disruptive capabilities through innovation.

Time has been allocated to provide you with an opportunity for networking, with morning tea provided.

The 6th Australian Defence Magazine Space Summit will bring together government, industry, space pioneers and academia to assess Australia’s space vision and position in the global space community. Focussing on building a sovereign space industry, participation in global space operations and supporting local space industry. Attendees will hear about the latest space technology innovations, national and international partnerships and how to navigate the regulatory landscape.

This annual industry gathering regularly attracts over 500 senior-level attendees and includes addresses from Government, Defence leadership, prime contractors, and SMEs. ADM Congress, now in its 22nd year, is the pivotal event in the Australian defence calendar focussing on future capability requirements, major acquisition projects, sustainment, regional geopolitics, and national security issues.

The ADM AUKUS Pillar II conference will concentrate on deepening technological collaboration between Australia, the United Kingdom and, the United States with a primary emphasis on advancing military capabilities through emerging technologies. It will explore how trilateral cooperation can advance the use of artificial intelligence, hypersonics, cyber capabilities, robotics, machine learning, quantum technologies, and more. This gathering of defence leaders, policymakers, industry and academia will facilitate discussions on integrating new technologies into defence operations, joint development, integrated supply chains and building a cohesive strategy to maximise the benefits of advanced technology for all partners.

The Avalon Australian International Airshow is Australia's largest airshow and a major defence industry event.

ADM is hosting a site walk around at the Avalon Airshow for a group of 24 women, who are new/newish to the defence sector.

April

This year’s Summit will focus on the ever-important strategic position of Northern Australia, its role in the wider Indo-Pacific region, and its significance to Australia’s security. Alongside this, the conference will cover a range of topics considering ADF Capabilities in the North, investment in infrastructure projects, Defence as a driver for local economic growth, and the challenges of developing and sustaining a sufficiently skilled workforce to support Defence operations.
