A review is underway to develop a plan to reform the management and repair practices that led to the early decommissioning of HMAS Manoora and the extended unavailability of HMAS Kanimbla.
The review will also consider how these reforms should be applied to other naval vessels and consider the maintenance concept being developed for the Air Warfare Destroyer and Landing Helicopter Dock.
An independent external reviewer is conducting the review and submissions are invited from interested parties.
The submissions must be less than 2,000 words and correspond with the Terms of Reference, which can be found at www.defence.gov.au/rizzo-review.
All submissions will be treated in confidence. Closing Date: Friday, 8 April 2011.
