Rheinmetall Defence Australia has revealed to ADM that, should it be successful in its bid for Project Land 400 Phase 2 (Mounted Combat Reconnaissance Capability), it will partner with an additional nine SMEs to deliver more than $125 million of products and services.
Rheinmetall is offering the Boxer CRV 8x8 for the program and were it to be chosen, the following companies will join NIOA, Tectonica and Supacat:
- Melbourne-based Cablex
- Burnie-based Direct Edge
- Brisbane-based G&O Kert
- Melbourne-based Hilton Manufacturing
- Perth-based Hoffman Engineering
- Sydney-based Huber and Suhner
- Melbourne-based Nezkot Precision Tooling and Engineering
- Adelaide-based Plasteel
- Adelaide-based Redarc
“This announcement is the first in a series of announcements about Australian Industry Capability partnerships that will underline the quality of Rheinmetall’s capability and local industry content offering to the Commonwealth,” Rheinmetall Defence Australia managing director Andrew Fletcher said.

The company will transfer critical know-how to local SMEs to support the sustainment of the Boxer CRV throughout the life of the Land 400 program with partners being included in the Rheinmetall Global Supply Chain.
In December last year Rheinmetall announced new infrastructure in the form of a Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE), to supply, support and sustain up to 4,000 Australian military vehicles deelivered under the Land 121 and Land 400 programs as well as regional Rheinmetall vehicle fleets within the South East Asian region.
