Raytheon Australia has bought Compucat Research.

ADM learned of the acquisition by heading to the Compucat website last week only to find themselves re-directed to Raytheon.

Hmmmm.

Raytheon weren't willing to chat at the time but have since released a statement confirming the buy, sans terms

"This acquisition will further enhance our offerings to Defence and allow us to earn our place as a trusted partner in the intelligence community," Michael Ward, managing director of Raytheon Australia, said.

"Whilst the full integration will take some months we will continue to operate the Compucat business within Raytheon Australia under the banner of Security Solutions."

Calling Compucat for comment, ADM was met with a cheery "Good morning, Raytheon here" and a promise of a return call.

Compucat began in 1981 and now boasts a staff of 90 people at their Canberra office, according to the latest edition of the ADM Directory of Defence Suppliers.

Compucat Research is an information and communications security specialist company to national security environments.

A number of Compucat's personnel are cleared to SECRET or above, and the company has products certified to the highest security level.

Compucat's Belconnen facility is accredited by the Defence Security Authority (DSA) to perform work and store materials at the SECRET level.
