Pacific Airshow Gold Coast, the major international aviation event announced in April has further announced that the inaugural show will take place from 18 to 20 August 2023, with tickets to go on sale later this year.
The Pacfic Airshow Gold Coast is a companion event to the successful Pacific Airshow, held at Huntington Beach in southern California. Organised by Code Four, the US event attracts around three million visitors each year.
“Since launching our expansion to Australia in April, we have been inundated with calls and emails from people across the globe, desperate for us to let them in on the secret,” said Kevin Elliott, CEO of Code Four.
“We’re excited to be working closely with the ADF, especially as the inaugural event will be honouring and recognising Australian Vietnam Veteran’s Day on 18 August, and marking the important date with a tribute to those who have served.”
The event will be held over the beach on the Gold Coast and will offer a range of hospitality options to visitors, from general admission tickets to corporate chalets. “We're taking hospitality on the beach to a whole new level,” Elliott promised.
The event organiser has held discussions with a number of overseas military aerobatic teams about their potential participation. In addition, Elliott says strong ties with the US military have already been formed through the Huntington beach show and there are already early asset commitments for the Australian event.
“We’re focussed on building a very robust pipeline of international participation, we want this to be a show where, every year, we have a different international team participating,” Elliott said.
The organisers are also looking to provide a different experience to visitors. “Pacific Airshow Gold Coast is so much more than what happens in the air, with something from everyone throughout the event precinct stretching for several kilometres along the esplanade,” Elliott added. “From street vendors, STEM exhibitions, uncrewed technologies, art, entertainment and more.”
