Transfield Services’ profile has grown considerably in South Australia during the last eighteen months. What may not be known is that the company is in fact in its 16th year of full time operations in South Australia.

Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Senator David Feeney and Federal Member for Wakefield, Nick Champion recently signed a new Defence contract with Transfield Services as the provider of Comprehensive Maintenance Services for all defence establishments in South Australia.

“This contract reinforces our well established standing as a leading long-term provider of support services to the defence industry,” Transfield Services Managing Director and CEO, Peter Goode said.

At the beginning of this year, Transfield Services opened a new corporate office on South Terrace in Adelaide, reaffirming its commitment to South Australia.

Transfield Services has been providing Garrison Support Services across a range of metropolitan and regional establishments for the Department of Defence in South Australia since 1999, and for just as long in Western Australia and New South Wales. The Company also provides corrosion protection services to the Australian Navy’s six Collins Class Submarines and performs blast and paint work for the Australian Submarine Corporation as part of the construction of three Air Warfare Destroyers.

These are exciting times for South Australia. South Australia and Adelaide are the focus of massive projects and nationally recognised events. Transfield Services has been awarded over $2 billion of work in hand in South Australia across a number of industries and as a result employs more than 1,500 South Australians locally.
