Frequentis is supplying Oslo Lufthavn AS with its successful iSecCOM solution.
The integrated and fully IP-based controller working positions (iCWPs), with their 8-inch foldout panels, will provide Oslo Airport’s control tower with a highly-flexible emergency solution.
Should the main Voice Communication System (VCS) ever fail, the new equipment will enable Oslo’s controllers to continue communicating with incoming and departing aircraft.
Oslo Lufthavn AS is an independently-managed subsidiary of the Norwegian air navigation service provider AVINOR, therefore the Emergency Radio-Communication System of Oslo Airport has also been included into the existing maintenance contract between AVINOR and Frequentis.
Frequentis will deliver its IP-based Voice Communication System to AVINOR to power the first remote tower system in this Nordic country.
The VCS will also play a pivotal role in a SESAR validation exercise designed to prove the viability of remote tower operations.
The Norwegian ACCs in Oslo and Bodo are already equipped with Frequentis technology, with ACC Stavanger set to follow soon.
