Townsville-based TEi Services will manufacture armoured doors, hatches, and covers at its Townsville workshops and deliver the completed items to Hanwha Defence Australia’s (HDA) facility in Avalon, Victoria, for integration onto AS9 Self-Propelled Howitzers (SPH) and AS10 Armoured Ammunition Resupply Vehicles (AARV).

The contract is valued at over $10 million and represents TEi's first big leap into Defence prime supply chains according to the company.

In addition to manufacturing these sub-assemblies for the vehicles, TEi Services said that is also well positioned to provide through-life maintenance support to the vehicles, the majority of which will be based at Army’s 3rd Brigade in Townsville.

In March 2022 the company signed another agreement with HDA to provide similar components, including ramps, doors and hatches collectively worth $15 million to the Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicle if it was selected as part of Project Land 400 Phase 3.

Subsequently, on 8 December 2023, HDA was awarded that contract by Defence.
