The event organisers of the Singapore Airshow report that the 2024 trade event, which concluded on Friday 23 February, recorded its highest attendance rate in its 18-year history.

Experia said that, since its inception in 2008 the biennial airshow and trade exposition has not recorded attendances as high as this during the previous eight events, proving that the industry has bounced back from the effects of COVID-19. The global pandemic had affected participants – in terms of both exhibitors and trade attendees – during the previous shows in 2020 and 2022.

Almost 60,000 trade visitors attended Singapore 2024, up from the 50,000 expected and 10 per cent more than the previous record event in 2018, immediately prior to the pandemic. Experia said that the result “signals renewed optimism and recovery in the aerospace landscape in the Asia-Pacific region”.

“We are delighted to announce this overwhelming response for this edition,” said Experia’s Managing Director Leck Chet Lim.

“It clearly signals a renewed optimism and momentum driving this sector forward. It certainly reaffirms Singapore Airshow’s role as a catalytic platform for industry sector professionals worldwide in the global arena to convene and draw up tomorrow’s agenda.”

Highlights of the 2024 event included the debut of China’s Changhe Z10ME attack helicopter in the static display, complete with an impressive array of air to ground weapons. The Z10ME is the export variant of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy’s (PLAN) primary attack helicopter, the Z10.

Although no major defence contracts were announced over the course of the three-day event there was much to discuss and new products announced. ADM will bring you news from the show over the coming days.
