In its third year of the DTC Defence Industry Member Awards, South Australian Defence Industry celebrated this years’ winners at the annual DTC Defence Industry Dinner and Awards Ceremony on Thursday the 31st of May.

In the presence of State and Federal MPs and Senators, the Chief of Army and the DMO CEO, the dinner and awards ceremony recognised companies and individuals who had significantly contributed to the development of the industry in South Australia, while showing excellence in ethical behaviour, service and commitment to the defence Industry.

“All the awardees are truly deserving and represent outstanding examples of the resilience, innovation and commitment of South Australia’s defence industry,” DTC Chief Executive Officer Chris Burns said.

The members were acknowledged in three categories:

Outstanding Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Award:
recognised an SME that has excelled in their engagement with the defence industry to build their capability and capacity to work in Defence and have successfully increased their share of Defence work. This was awarded to Daronmont Technologies an Australian owned company operating mainly in the Defence electronics sector.

Innovator Award:
recognised a company who has invested in research and development to produce innovative products and/or services that have contributed to building the capability of the defence industry in South Australia. This was awarded to Mincham Aviation, with its delivery system Mincham Aviation Aerial Delivery System.

Workforce Development Award: recognised a company who has invested in the training, up skilling and development of their workforce as a contribution to building the skills base of the defence industry in South Australia. This was awarded to Saab Systems as a dynamic and forward thinking corporation.

Young Achiever Award:
recognised an outstanding young person who is motivated, ambitious and who has excelled in building their career in the defence industry. This was awarded to Tammy Chau, Mechanical Engineer at Babcock within their engineering team.
