News Review: Haulmark signs Overlander Ph.3 contract | ADM Jun 2010

Brisbane company Haulmark Trailers (Australia) Pty Ltd has signed a $70 million contract under Project Land 121 Ph.3 - Overlander for the provision and support of 973 Lightweight and Light trailers.

"It is estimated that this contract will create up to 60 local jobs," Defence Materiel Minister Greg Combet said.

"The new generation of vehicular systems will replace the current trailer capability for Defence and have been purposely designed to operate in conjunction with the G?Wagon vehicles, currently being acquired under a contract with Mercedes Benz Australia/Pacific Pty Ltd.

"The signing of this contract is a key step in providing the ADF with a new generation of transport systems that will enhance its mobility and logistics capability," he added.

The trailers will be delivered from April 2012 through to February 2015.

Graham Perrett, Federal Member for Moreton, welcomed the contract signature and congratulated Haulmark on its achievement.

"The successful company, Brisbane-based Haulmark, has been supplying quality trailers to Defence for over 20 years, and they will continue to provide support for the new trailer fleet for at least the next 16 years," he said.
