News Review: Eylex to support Raytheon on JP2072 | ADM Mar 2011

Raytheon Australia has signed a significant subcontract in relation to Joint Project 2072 with local SME Eylex Pty Ltd, a defence communications and connectivity supplier representing a number of manufacturers.

The firm has established a reputation for supplying and repairing a number of product lines including antennas and masts, audio ancillaries, power solution, RF amplifiers, data management systems and cable assemblies.

Under its sub-contract from Raytheon Australia, Eylex will supply some 4,000 items of communication ancillaries in support of Raytheon’s EPLRS and MicroLight tactical data radios. Specifically, Eylex will supply soldier-worn, vehicle and portable mast antennas, batteries and a wide range of RF, data and power cabling, spares and comprehensive integrated logistics support data.

“It is incredibly important for primes such as Raytheon Australia to demonstrate their support for capable Australian SME’s by providing them with real and fulfilling work to the benefit of our military customers,” Managing director of Raytheon Australia, Michael Ward, said. “This contract is further evidence that the growth of Australia’s defence industry depends on a strong collaboration of companies both large and small who bring their individual strengths to contract performance.”
