Parker Hannifin has launched a new range of value engineered pneumatic directional control valves. Designed to deliver high performance combined with reasonable cost, the Viking Lite range is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications. The all-new Viking Lite series sets the standard for pneumatic directional control valves that offer high performance and long life yet are extremely cost effective. The range can be specified in three different port sizes namely G1/8, G1/4 and G3/8 and offers compact installation dimensions especially beneficial for space critical applications.
The Viking Lite range features Parkers dynamic bi-directional spool seals. Suitable for pressures up to 10 bar in ambient temperatures of -10 °C to + 50 °C, under pressure radial expansion of the seal occurs to maintain sealing contact with the valve bore. Parker has invested considerable design resource into this wear compensating system to deliver long life. In turn this reduces friction thus giving lower pilot pressures, this also provides fast response and less wear. Delivering more than 10 million operating cycles, Viking Lite offers short change over times and low change over pressure. This means that general maintenance and service time can be considerably reduced.
During the design stage extra emphasis has been placed on the material design of the valves. Manufactured from anodized aluminium, Viking Lite offers customers a valve with good corrosion resistance in a smooth design. This feature eliminates dirt collecting pockets, thus making the valves suitable for a wide variety of environments. Optimised to comply with the requirements for component reliability in accordance with the EU machinery directive standards EN292-2 and EN983, Viking Lite is designed for use with or without supplementary lubrication.
Compact dimensions, large flow capacity, direct body porting and integral mounting holes are all benefits of the Viking Lite range. In addition to single valve installation Viking Lite gives customers the flexibility to install onto manifolds so that there is a common supply and manifold exhausts. The manifold bar option has common ducts for ports 1,3 and 5, which give simple time saving, easy service and installation. If a customer wants to specify with a pressure bar installation this is also available. With a pressure bar restrictor silencers can be installed in the exhaust ports of each valve. This delivers individual adjustment of cylinders/ air motor speeds. Manifold bars are available in different sizes with space for between 2 and 14 valves and pressure bar for 2 to 10 valves. Viking Lite models are designated as P2LAZ (G1/8 ports), P2LBZ (G1/4 ports) and P2LCZ (G3/8 ports).
