Re-Engineering
Australia Foundation has announced that world-renowned GCC laser engravers are
now available in Australia.
The not-for-profit social enterprise has been appointed the Australian
distributor of the Taiwan
based corporation which dominates the global Electro Optical Automation
industry.
They are
the product-of-choice in the United
Kingdom where 8 out of every 10 in technical
training colleges and universities are a GCC product.
REA Foundation has been supplying both industry and education for many years
with Denford routers and milling machines and GCC is an addition to that range.
Two models, the Mercury III and faster Spirit LS are capable of engraving and
cutting an extensive range of materials such as metal, wood, glass, acrylic,
leather and rubber.
They are ideal for making prototypes of products, miniature architectural
models, automotive parts, furniture parts, labels, tags, signage, jewellery
design, name plates for parts or for engraving part numbers and logos directly
on to components or tools.
The work area of the Mercury III is 635mm x 458mm and its pass-through front
and rear doors allow long pieces of material to be fed through the machine.
The
Spirit LS is slightly larger at 640 x 460mm. Both machines have adjustable
speed control with the Mercury reaching 42 IPS and the Spirit 80 IPS.
The free-standing machines are safe and reliable and have intuitive control
panels with graphical icons which are easy to operate.
There is a key switch to
safeguard the lasers from unauthorised use and a prominent Emergency Stop
button located on top which immediately shuts down the machine.
Features of both machines include patented SmartACT™ which speeds up operation
to complete jobs quicker, the DuraGuide motion system for high speed accuracy,
one-touch SmartPIN Auto Focus, an innovative lid providing easy access for maintenance
known as the SmartLID and an LED SmartLIGHT which illuminates the work area.
