Frequentis has received a contract from OEA Grands Projets, Tripoli, Libya, to supply the air traffic control (ATC) tower's voice communication control systems (VCCS) as part of the ATC tower package being supplied to Tripoli International Airport by OEA.

The contract includes a separate radio backup system.

To meet the inherent requirement for high reliability in an ATC switching system, Frequentis will supply its VCS 3020X system.

The VCS 3020X voice communication system is based on a unique, highly modular, distributed and decentralised architecture that incorporates extensive redundancy - providing a true parallel operation core switch with duplicated data and audio paths.

The VCS 3020X features the very latest user-interface technology, such as sunlight-readable colour touch panels.

The VCS 3020X systems will be equipped with a total of 28 operational work positions providing access to the main and backup systems.

Delivery is scheduled for the end of 2010, with completion in early 2011.
