EPE and QinetiQ North America have partnered.
EPE is to represent the range of unmanned ground vehicles and their controllers including the TALON series which is manufactured and supplied by QinetiQ North America.
QinetiQ North America’s International Business Manager said ‘we will support EPE with all through-life support capability including spares, maintenance and training. EPE has accredited service engineers to conduct maintenance on the TALON unmanned ground vehicle. EPE has been designated as QinetiQ NA’s authorized maintenance representative and reseller for all TALON products, services and spare parts for QinetiQ NA in Australia.’
EPE will have a maintenance team fully qualified in servicing and repairing the QinetiQ NA family of robots in a fully equipped, secure facility.
They will also deliver TALON Robot Maintenance courses for DMO – in 2013 they trained 11 Defence personnel in maintenance of the robot. Participants learn various OEM endorsed fault-finding techniques and the correct procedures for assembly/disassembly of the ROV.
Around the world, the TALON military robots have earned a reputation for durability, reliability and flexibility when protecting personnel by remotely dealing with improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Since TALON’s initial deployment in 2000, the QinetiQ NA family of robots has expanded to include small, medium and large unmanned vehicles that can be configured for specific tasks, such as IED defeat, CBRNE/hazmat identification, reconnaissance, combat engineering support and SWAT/MP unit assistance.
