The Parliamentary Secretary for Defence, Senator David Feeney, last week opened Horseshoe Barracks and common user facilities with the Chief of Army, Lieutenant General David Morrison, at Headquarters 1st Brigade, RAA F Base Edinburgh, South Australia.

The facilities, costing some $620 million, include working Australian Defence Force accommodation, training facilities, a combined mess, fitness, health and community facilities.

7RAR commenced the move from Darwin to Adelaide in January 2011.

LTGEN Morrison welcomed 7RAR’s relocation to South Australia, saying the move greatly enhanced Army’s training ability.
