Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Richard Marles has announced the reappointment of Andrew Seaton as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Australian Naval Infrastructure (ANI) for a five-year term.

Seaton has been ANI’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer since 2020. During this period, he has led the organisation through the planning and construction of infrastructure in support of key naval shipbuilding projects, the minister said in a joint release with Minister for Finance Katy Gallagher.

Seaton reportedly brings extensive engineering, financial, commercial, and major project management experience to the role.

The ministers said Seaton’s reappointment will ensure 'continuity of leadership' during an important time in which ANI will deliver critical shipbuilding infrastructure, including designing and building the future nuclear-powered submarine construction yard at Osborne, South Australia.

“Mr Seaton’s reappointment comes at a time when ANI has a critical role to play in supporting the Government’s defence and national security objectives, including developing infrastructure that will be essential for Australia’s nuclear-powered submarine program,” Marles said.

“Andrew Seaton has led ANI through the planning and construction of key shipbuilding infrastructure. Mr Seaton has extensive experience and is well suited to lead ANI’s current and future business activities,” Gallagher added.
