Thales Australia will build 15 additional Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicles (PMV) under a $45 million contract with Defence.

The new vehicles will be outfitted as command and control (C2) vehicles for Army's High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) long-range fires regiment.

Since 2021, around 149 Bushmasters have been taken from Australian Defence Force (ADF) service and exported to partner countries including Ukraine, Fiji, and Indonesia.

To date the government has only ordered 93 vehicles, including this latest tranche, to replace them.
