Lockheed Martin has received a USD$121,567,721 firm-fixed-price contract for Australia’s buy one of Gen III Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Systems (TADS/PNVS) components and hardware for the ADF's new Apache attack helicopter fleet.
The first system is expected to be completed in May 2025 in advance of the first aircraft delivery in August 2025. Buy two is expected in December this year. Buy one is for nine systems and buy two is expected for 20 systems.
“The Gen III TADS/PNVS provides Apache aircrews with situational awareness and helps to save lives in challenging missions,” said Tom Eldredge, Director of Rotary Wing Sensors, including Apache Sensors. “Gen III TADS/PNVS is a proven capability and Lockheed Martin is proud to help the Australia military for whatever mission or threat it faces.”
Fielded in 2005, Lockheed Martin has delivered more than 1,350 M-TADS/PNVS systems and spares to the U.S. Army and international customers. This new contract marks Australia as the 17th country to acquire the Lockheed Martin Apache sensors.
Gen III TADS/PNVS, known as the "eyes of the Apache," provides pilots with long-range, precision engagement and pilotage capabilities for safe flight during day, night and adverse weather missions.
