The Australian Army has placed a follow-up order with Vegvisir, an Estonian-Croatian startup, for their Mixed Reality-based technology.
“We were pleasantly surprised by the overwhelmingly positive feedback,” stated CEO of Vegvisir, Ingvar Pärnamäe. “It’s a true testament to the hard work and dedication we’ve put into developing a reliable and effective product. This follow-up order reinforces our confidence in the significant value Vegvisir delivers to the modern battlefield.”
The XR-Based Situational Awareness Systems (SAS) combine vehicle-mounted cameras, immersive headsets, and real- time data overlay to deliver a 360-degree view of a vehicle’s surroundings. They operate with ultra-low latency, enhancing situational awareness and enabling better decision-making in complex environments.
“Thanks to the excellent collaboration with the Australian Army, we’ve been able to actively refine and enhance our product even further. We remain committed to continuous improvements to meet the needs of our partners,” explained Pärnamäe.
The Australian Army has experimented on modified M113 Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) with the XR-Based SAS.
