Leonardo Australia has achieved the AS9110 certification; a globally recognised quality management standard for the aerospace sector.
The company said the certification demonstrates its commitment to providing high-quality maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services to its customers.
The certification covers the helicopter technical support business, including maintenance, repair and overhaul of civil and defence helicopters and components, customer support, and materials services, as well as the supply and distribution of aeronautical spare parts.
To gain the certification, Leonardo Australia said the company underwent a rigorous assessment of its quality management system against the AS9110 standard.
"The certification enables the company to consistently achieve its quality objectives, simplify operational procedures, further enhance customer satisfaction and safety standards, as well as swiftly adapt to new business prospects," the company said in a statement.
“AS9110 certification is a critical component to the future of our helicopter services in our region, and demonstrates our commitment to our customers and to the industry by uncompromising on quality and safety,” Giorgio Mantegazza, Managing Director at Leonardo Australia, said.
The Essendon Fields helicopters hangar and the Fishermans Bend facility support a fleet of more than 160 helicopters deployed for civil, military and public utility applications such as passenger transport, offshore operations, emergency medical services, search and rescue and law enforcement.
