Architectus has appointed a new Principal and National Sector Leader for Defence – Ralph Williams, who brings to the practice over twenty years’ experience leading a range of defence and government planning, design, and construction projects.

The appointment comes as Architectus Principal Mark Mitcheson-Low, who established the company's Perth Studio and National Defence Sector, moves into a new role as National Leader Strategic Projects.

With expertise managing significant Department of Defence projects, Williams will 'spearhead the Sector’s national growth' by drawing on Architectus’ expertise in workplace, aviation, rail, science and research, education, urban planning, residential, and interiors.

Williams led high-profile projects including Air 5428 Pilot Training Systems, Victoria Barracks Redevelopment Melbourne, and most recently the Riverina Redevelopment Program.

“Ralph is a recognised leader in the Defence Sector and has delivered design solutions for some of the largest and most technically complex defence projects in the country," Architectus CEO, Ray Brown said.

“His expertise will be instrumental to building the Sector and we look forward to working with him to design the next generation of defence infrastructure in Australia.”
