Beca has appointed Daniel Foley to its Australian Defence and National Security team as Business Director – International Engagement, based in Beca's Melbourne office.

With over 14 years’ service in the Australian Army where he delivered large, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects both domestically and abroad, Beca says Foley will play 'an important role in developing and implementing our National Security Strategy for the Pacific'.

Daniel brings experience working across diverse cultures with National Security clients in the Indo-Pacific, working collaboratively to develop solutions to unique regional challenges.

“Having lived in the Pacific and directly experienced the benefit that infrastructure can bring to the lives and livelihoods of local communities, I look forward to working with clients in the region through my new role here at Beca to continue making everyday better,” Foley said.

Foley joins Beca from his most recent role as an Officer in the Australian Army, specifically the 12th and 19th Chief Engineer Works where he acted as a Project Director, overseeing large civil infrastructure development projects across Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu.

Other projects he’s delivered during his Army career include the Kokoda Track Water Course Assessment in Papua New Guinea, Kapooka Grenade Range in Wagga Wagga NSW and the Army Engineers Digital Modernisation Program for the Department of Defence, Canberra.

“I am delighted with Daniel joining the team and leading our International Engagement into the Pacific," David Barter – Australian Business Director, Defence and National Security at Beca said. "Daniel has already developed a strong rapport with our Australian and Pacific teams, and we are looking forward to continuing to support strategic Government initiatives across the Pacific."
