The Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) announced on 8 June the appointment of Dr Darius Danesh as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
Danesh has held prominent leadership roles and served as a trusted advisor to organisations across various industries in both the public and private sectors. His expertise spans across Strategic Leadership, Project Portfolio Management, PMO, Governance, Risk Management, Business & Digital Transformation, Civil Infrastructure, Data Analytics, AI, and more.
In addition to his experience as a Chief Executive, Company Director, Chair, and Board member at various organisations, Darius has made contributions to AIPM as a Board Director, RegPM Assessor, mentor, and committee member for over a decade.
AIPM said Danesh's active participation within the AIPM community has provided him with valuable insights into the diverse challenges encountered by members, while also fostering a deep understanding of the organisation's strategies, policies, and goals.
His professional affiliations include being a Fellow Certified Practising Portfolio Executive (FAIPM CPPE), a Fellow Chartered Professional Engineering Executive (FIEAust CPEng EngExec NER APEC Engineer IntPE), and a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). He also holds a Master's degree in Engineering Science, PhD in Strategic Project Portfolio Management from the University of New South Wales and an Advanced Diploma in Project Management and Governance.
