Navantia Australia is seeking to engage with partners from Australian industry as part of the company’s work on Australia’s Future Frigates.
The company is holding a number of engagement forums scheduled across the country, in order to explain how industry can be a part of the Sea 5000 Future Frigate program.
Navantia is currently participating in the Competitive Evaluation Process (CEP) for the program, and is seeking interested Australian companies to participate in the design and construction of Australia’s next generation of naval vessels.
As part of its growth in Australia the company is increasing engagement with Australian industry, in order to fully utilise the latter’s strong capabilities.
According to Navantia, through the combination of maximising local industry participation and transferring world-leading shipyard technology to Adelaide, it will work with the Government to create an enduring sovereign shipbuilding capability.
The industry engagement represents a further development of Navantia’s already substantial local supply chain. Via its global supply chain, industry also has access to export opportunities as part of Navantia’s shipbuilding programs around the world.
Established in 2006, Navantia Australia currently employs 100 people across four locations in Australia and continues to grow, with a fifth location to open in WA by 2018.
Navantia will be holding industry days throughout February to April, and invites all interested companies to register their interest through www.navantiasea5000.icn.org.au.
